Expansion at Taoyuan and Kunshan
factories to address growing demand...
RALEIGH, NC (February 9, 2004)- SEI Electronics, Inc. recently announced increases in capacity at its Taoyuan, Taiwan and Kunshan, China factories, which will bring the total capacity for thick film chip resistors (RMC series) to almost 5 billion pieces per month by April 2004.
Expanding from a current capacity of just over 3.5 billion pieces per month, capacity is being increased on all sizes. By April, the combined capacity of the two locations will include 2.7 billion pieces per month for the 0603 size, 1.4 billion for the 0805 size and 350 million for the 1206 size.
“As the demand for thick film chip resistors continues to increase, we want to ensure that SEI has sufficient capacity to meet our customer’s needs, and to maintain the short leadtimes and on-time delivery that our customers have come to expect,” commented Kesao Akahane, SEI’s President and CEO. “We have been successful in increasing our market share, and this latest investment shows our continued commitment as a leading resistor manufacturer,” he added.
