SEI has been recommended for certification to ISO 9001:2000
RALEIGH, NC (September 5, 2003) - SEI Electronics, Inc. today announced that it has been recommended for certification to ISO 9001: 2000 by its third-party registrar, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, Inc (LRQA). This is an upgrade from the previous version of this standard to which SEI was certified, ISO 9002:1994, and is in addition to SEI’s current certification to QS 9000, the automotive quality system standard.

The effort to achieve this upgrade was begun last spring, and required a complete review and significant revision of aspects of SEI’s management system. Audits were conducted at Company headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina and at the SEI distribution and customer service center in El Paso, Texas in which numerous employees were interviewed, records examined, and procedures verified.
President John McCabe congratulated the employees of SEI, stating: “…All of you have done an outstanding job helping us add this prestigious certification to those we have achieved in the past.”
As soon as it is available, the new certificate will be posted on SEI’s website for viewing and as a downloadable file.
